Candid Couplet #7

The unspeakable's not treatable, how then can I win?
Afraid to say just what it is that's muting me within.

Behind Her Eyes

She kept a flame for past mistakes, she feels she failed the test;
her fired eyes shift up in smoke to give her mind some rest.
With shame and guilt and secrets deep, her time is spent within;
no one can reach her inner room, no one can free her sin.
While others grow and roam about she stops for every sign,
and reads in them her every doubt, to keep herself in line.
Sealed up alone, her fear ablaze, still trapped behind the lens,
caught burning up the scenery on which she most depends.
This path will fail as time moves on, like her this path is dust;
it's leading back the way she came yet this is what she'll trust.
She wants to change, to stop this ride and back it up once more,
but its too late, all she can do is let go of before.
If she could give in just enough to stand out in the rain,
the drops of life would douse what has been keeping her in pain.

Magic In Memories

A memory without a dream is nothing but a print,
in it we see what's left of love, a taunting shadowed hint.
To let it work and sing your song means sacrificing sin,
but can you suffer painful groans while birthing what's within?
This is the secret known to some, the worth of sacrifice,
and faith that lets you take it up at such a costly price.
While trusting in the angels you cannot believe your eyes,
as demons come approaching with an image just your size.
So separate the visions from the waters of the deep,
to let imagination just continue while you sleep.
Appreciate the calm you feel but don't get too attached,
this too is just a sentiment which keeps the treasure latched.
Then all that's left is playful peace and memories of love,
a space you couldn't know until it came down from above.

Candid Couplet #6

I'm far away from what I know, from who I used to be.
Though growing still I'm smothering in harsh reality.

Rhyme Reaction #5

They gave their life and owned their death in choosing how to serve,
those boys made men through discipline, enlisting every nerve.
Some grew their age and lived to know the sacrifice they made,
and with them we remember so the memories won't fade.

Candid Couplet #5

In giving life you sacrifice your own so you should know,
they pull your soul out through your skin and never let it go.
